190/366: ET

Lemme explain counter clockwise!

1. Went to KLCC for the 2nd time this year. It's wow, because I've been there less than 10 times my whole life! Time to camouflage myself as a tourist.

2. The main purpose was to watch a family orchestra called "Orchestra from Planet X"! Super funny because it's catered to family, which means loads of kids, hence there were 2 mime performers as Aliens to shake up the usual serious, quiet audience. 2nd time seeing MPO after years. Great performance. Inspired once more...... Happy to have got the chance to watch an orchestra with the whole fam for the first time.

3. Then we ate 50% off price' dimsum @ spring garden! It's funny because after 50% off, it's still equivalent to 100% dimsum' price in Subang. Oh and that's the orchestra ticket I deemed cool to be placed beside the pork bun.

4. Beautiful lighting after entering the main entrance of KLCC!!

5. I've been wearing brown contact lens for the first time since a couple of days ago. You probably can't see it but it's interesting.

179/366: countdown

"你有信心吗?"

......... My piano teacher asked me this morning.

Today marks One month countdown until my judgement day on 27/07.

I actually didn't reply her question.

Truth is, I'm not done with the exam syllabus. My fingers slip quite often into a pool of mistakes. I'm nervous. I procrastinate.

Yet I do have sprinkles of confidence within me.

After class this morning I came home and had my butt glued on the piano seat....... with short intervals of drinking water, reading newspaper, and random snacking. In jubilee mood because I am getting more focus (hopefully).

Despite lacking time, time, and time, despite not having enough stamina, flexibility and knowledge; what is delightful is that sheets of purely black and white music scores....... can actually produce vibrant splashes of colors and rich emotions..... when played with a whole heart, soul, and mind.

Wow.

I am not prepared, yet.

But I will be.

p/s: FilterMania 2 + Snapseed + FrameMagic was used for this picture.... Amazing apps I tell you! ;D

177/366: symphony

(25.06.2012, Monday)

Spontaneous last minute decision with mummy to watch the Queensland Youth Symphony perform at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, KLCC!

The hall was described as glorious by the conductor! Really, beautiful.

The pianist was quite adorable! Got my fangirl moment during the interval... Picture and autograph... Hehehe.

Splendid. Great acoustics in the hall.
Funny crowd that claps endlessly (culture?).
Them youths passionate with their instruments = inspiring !

The last time I saw an orchestra performance was when I was 14! Definitely won't wait that long for my next one.

If you're a Malaysian and have never been to any MPO performances/DFP showcase.... You should because it's a great experience.

Unless you find orchestra music boring!
(boo)

171/366: repositioning

Set this picture as my iPod's lock screen, so that every time I intend to procrastinate, I'll be somewhat reminded that I should be practising instead. Focus.

This picture was taken this morning at my family's new humble home. One empty house with only a piano, it felt like I was performing on stage where the sound was so loud, clear, and echoey. Creepy at first, but it felt wow later on.

Packing commences. I don't know how what where why who.... but it seems like I have kazillions of loose paper (printed, handwritten, empty) in my current bedroom....... even though I pretty much recycle a whole lot of paper about every beginning and end of the year!

Right now there's no time for me to select whats for keep, recycle, throw, and give..... but to literally chunk everything into boxes and boxes! Ok. The idea is to stack them all up to the top, in a corner of my new room.... And when my piano exam is over by end July, I'll unpack and sort hopefully one box per week.

Then, I'll be a clutter-free and organised princess.

123/366: bach

shot with mum's canon ixus again! not bad!
Bach is seriously one fantastic composer.
The above piano piece I'm playing can be analysed into so many different sections. Unexpected to the maximum.
But it's really cool.

On this rainy gloomy day, I survived.... despite having headache.
Due to sleeping late.

Remind me again why are we a generation of sleep deprives ?

86/366: patty

Simple "fast food" lunch: Ramlee Burger !

Don't be shocked by the amount of oil that's oozing out from the patty itself ! Nope, I didn't add any oil !

I don't know if many of you know this, but unless you want more flavor (etc. using butter), you actually don't need to put oil when you cook (by grilling, or with a simple oven etc.) patty, nuggets, and sausages ! Perhaps even other alike processed food.

Because they already contain a lot of oil that will all flow out when you cook 'em and honestly I think that's sufficient... Adding more oil into it........ makes it so much more oily. Yikes.

I use a non-stick pan to do it tho... so hmm I'm not sure if an ordinary frying pan will work? Maybe not I suppose.

Grandma taught me this trick few years ago haha.

Don't be fooled by the scrambled egg behind. I declare it the worst egg I've ever cooked ! In reality it was horrible. The worst part at the end was when I intended to sprinkle a dash of black pepper on it, a spoonful of it flow out.........

The burger still tasted fine tho !

-

Today was weird.... Like a mixture of feeling productive and unproductive. How weird is that ? Maybe I'm still recovering from thinking a little too much. I've soaked my ears in some old songs again. Paramore, Death Cab, Katy Perry: forever and ever, really.

Taylor Swift needs to come to Malaysia also. So does The Script ! Ahhhhh

Need to sleep before 12 am tonight. I have hopes that tomorrow will be a BEAUTIFUL day ! *smiles

80/366: victims

Incredibly gloomy day.

Until I wrote a song, with the above sentence as my first verse' lyric.

Saw this quote in tumblr recently, and was amazed by the truth of it. Currently this few words that screams such meaning is carved into the depths of my mind as a constant reminder.

My song written was a dedication to those struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts/tendencies.

If you are one of them, my heart goes out to you and I hope you NEVER give up in life, because you are truly LOVED, and depression may be recurrent (I poured my heart to research it on my English research project last year), but I concluded that it is CURABLE despite many arguments against it. Don't lose hope, slowly allow yourself to stop thinking so much and you will be set FREE. *hugs*

If I ever record it, I'll definitely credit whoever came up with this quote first.

72/366: metronome

A million thank yous to Jon Ong, one buddy of mine who is willing to lend me his metronome ! :D

It's the thing above the piano there, shaped like a triangular thingy, it's like a thing that goes "tick tick tick tick", in purpose to assist in timing while practicing the piano!

Such a shame that although I've learned piano for many years previously, I was never asked persistently by any teacher to buy it and use it !

Hence my timing is sometimes all over the place, boohoo :(

But there's HOPE now :D Thanks to my incredibly fantastic new piano teacher, and my buddy who's willing to lend me his metronome for a few months period (so kind right?) ! Such helpful peopleee.

Honestly however........ the metronome is getting on my nerves as I used it a lot today................... because it can irritate your ears and mind :(  Just like what my piano teacher warned. Haha.

63/366: leehom

I guess today I've been sadden by the fact that I've missed out on Lee Hom's concert. Been trying to hold my composure all week, by comforting myself for missing out, and not winning any tickets.

Do you know how expensive his tickets are, and that the cheapest has been sold out ? With others selling fast ?!!! Not every artist can manage to pull such a big crowd for Stadium Merdeka !!! Ahhhh.

The most shocking part was that the VIP tickets which is not for sale publicly, was selling in forums here and there for RM800....

Why is it that it's only upon nearing his concert that I became a bigger and bigger fan each day?

My Tweet - Will start saving up to buy the best ticket for whenever I get to see Lee Hom :') Probably need RM1000 as his ticket value rises ahhh

On the other hand, this video (CLICK!) which is also the one on the picture, has melted my heart and made me cry at the end! Super meaningful, and touching video.

I feel hope for forever love :')

36/366: piano

Was at the piano exhibition @ Summit.

Most of 'em were 2nd hand pianos shipped all the way from Japan.
They took my breathe away indeed. Various sorts of brands (Kawai, Yamaha, & more...) with different sound boards, sound produced, color, design, and touch of ze keys........ !

Woah. Grand pianos are mesmerizing also. I think the oldest there was about a 100 years old.

Had to make the toughest purchasing decision ever, all within an instance.
So...... say hello to an owner of a new 2nd hand piano.

Mum gave me the toughest conditions ever. But I know it will be worth it. & I have to trade in my old piano which has been with me for 10-11 years. Sad to the maximum, but I guess just as People come and go, Pianos come and go too.

Funny? :P

7/366: local_music

(photo thanks to Paul)

Just came back from Twisties Superstarz Grand Finale Concert !
Went there to support an awesome friend of mine, Nick Ng who made it to the finals!
He sang Sunday Morning and the classic Man In The Mirror which wooed the crowd!
Plus, my dear Julia who sang back-up for him! Hehehe.

I was suppose to go to another production in the afternoon but due to the need to take a train and monorail to finally reach KL Live, I had no choice but to forgo the other event, but really I appreciate my friend who invited me to that event that I missed!

Nevertheless, I knew why I had to be in the concert, it. was. amazing!
I believe God wanted me to be inspired by every person who performed on the stage tonight!
Just listening to the different genres of finalists comprising of soloists and bands (pop, rock, pop rock, pop punk, rap etc.) was soooooooo sweeeeeet ! I loved the atmosphere.
The emcees were great ! First time seeing Jinn from Hitz.fm and VJ Holly, in my opinion they are both so handsome and beautiful and tall in real life ! Plus Jinn's emceeing skills is really, really solid. Respect.

Although at times I did not display my enthusiasm of pumping my fist in the air, or by jumping etc., but I really enjoy seeing my local people belting their hearts out, singing their lungs out, with music from all genres that I totally adore!

Today, I finally learnt how to sit train and monorail to KL Sentral, or Bukit Bintang, and to reach KL Live!
Today, I had an adventure getting lost around my own KL with Paul and Sze Jie, hehehe.
Today, I literally screamed my lungs out to support Nick, Julia, and Jeremy!
Today, I enjoyed laughing at random moments with Felicia.
Today, I was happy to meet so many high school friends again.
Today, I realize I have to support local music more.

First concert of the year, interesting indeed !
2012, to a year fill with exploring music, music, and music.

5/366: waterfall

"i turn the music up, i got my records on; i shut the world outside, until the lights come on..."
i'll be so cold today without coldplay.
i'll be so emotionless without music.
i'll be so empty without Jesus.
i'll be so dark without self-control.
i'll be so boring without confidence.

suffice to say,
Coldplay made me smile today (along with a truckload of other bands on a daily basis);
i search for music according to my mood, i can't ever live without music;
Jesus fills my cup, i won't even be alive anymore, this moment, if not for Him;
i've managed self-control long enough to not become someone everyone will never recognize;
and i've forced myself to build up confidence to be where i am today.

today was another gloomy, yet sunny day in a way.
bittersweet, bittersweet.

"you can hurt, hurt me bad, but still i'll raise...... the flag!"
